Network Computing Devices (NCD) was founded in 1988 and was a leader in providing thin client solutions along with user management system. NCD's offerings would be cost effective lowering the price to entry. The devices known as X terminals allow users to connect to both UNIX and Windows based environments through the X based protocol later known as X11.
